Three South Shore men were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the armed robbery of a courier who was carrying nearly a half-million dollars in cash.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says thirty-eight-year-old Steven Madison of Bridgewater, thirty-seven-year-old Christopher White of Raynham, and thirty-five-year-old Quentin McDonald of Brockton are being charged with robbery, interfering with interstate commerce, arson, and conspiracy. Madison and McDonald are additionally being charged with a felon possessing a firearm.
Authorities say on February nineteenth, two of the suspects stole a rental van in Abington. They then are accused of driving to Swansea, confronting a courier carrying cash from a cannabis company, and robbing him at gunpoint.
The suspects allegedly zip tied the courier, forced him into his own car, and was pepper sprayed. Surveillance video shows the courier freeing a hand, drawing his gun, and firing several shots at the suspects’ fleeing van.
Two of the suspects met a third suspect in an SUV nearby, and all three drove away with the cash. They are accused of setting the stolen van on fire before fleeing.
An investigation allegedly found evidence linked to the robbery in the homes of Madison and White.
All three suspects are being held without bail and will be in court on Monday.
