Earlier this week a sonic boom was heard by some residents in Milton and now the cause has been determined.
Dr. John Ebel, a professor of Geophysics at Boston College and a Senior Research Scientist at the Weston Observatory at Boston College tells WATD News that earthquakes are a somewhat frequent occurrence in this area.
Ebel says some previous earthquakes were quite significant.
In fact, he says officials have even factored this into building codes.
Dr. Ebel says it’s also possible that some Milton residents may experience additional activity.
There were no reports of notable damage or injuries
