A former Stoughton Selectman has died after being struck by a car on Route 24 in West Bridgewater.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says that the incident took place around 9:30 p.m. Saturday when the MassDOT worker was picking up debris in the roadway in the area of Exit 28B on the northbound side.
The victim has since been identified as 57-year-old David Sousa.
The District Attorney’s Office says that the driver remained on scene and that the investigation is “ongoing at this time.”
The crash lead to a three hour closure of the northbound lanes of Route 24.
