Saturday’s rainy weather didn’t dampen spirits at Pageant Field in Quincy for the Veterans Music Fest, And Benefits And Career Expo, which kicked off with an opening volley from the Hingham Militia led by Captain Timothy Perkins.

Among those advocating for today’s veterans was the city’s Director of Veterans Services Christine Cugini.

Along with Dawn Slaven, ambassador for the Military Women’s Memorial.

There were also political figures such as Senate Candidate John Deaton.

John Lebhurz, of Green Street Flags in Weymouth, was selling wood carved flags.

The New England Knockouts also had a presence with Fan Experience Coordinator Katie McMahon manning a table.

Taylor Degrandis, Manager of Ginger Betty’s Bakery in Quincy, was on hand raising funds for the GI Ginger Betty Foundation.

You can Veterans Voice Radio every Thursday night at 7 p.m. right here on 95.9 WATD FM.
