In Plymouth, the town welcomes Communications Coordinator Casey Kennedy the first person to hold that position in this community, which according to World Population Review, houses over sixty-eight thousand people.

Casey Kennedy says she’s a South Shore girl having grown up in Weymouth..
“…so I’m a South Shore girl, my grandparents and my parents live in Carver. So I’ve grown up coming to Plymouth since I was probably four or five years old. So I love the town. I love how much it’s grown.”
And. Kennedy says, she’s very excited…
“…for the opportunity. I’ll be working with all the department heads, the Fire Department, the Police Department to get all the communications out and kind of have a unified voice for the entire town.”
Kennedy says one of her previous job experiences was very helpful…
“….probably the thing that set me up the most, I worked for a company who had Moderna and Pfizer as clients. I started there February 2020 right before, you know, the big pandemic started. So I dealt with a lot of crisis communication.”
But, apart from crisis communication, Kennedy says many departments are working on…
“…wonderful projects, they’ve gotten some grants, and the public isn’t aware of them because they’re too busy doing the projects to get on Facebook, or create a press release, so that is where I’m coming in.”
So, are you looking for the press to check in with you first rather than setting
up interviews on their own?
“…just going through me to start, we’ll figure out things as we go.”
