A second man has been held without bail in connection with a deadly shooting in Brockton.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says that 23-year-old Govanni Carapinha pleaded not guilty on Friday in Brockton District Court to charges of Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.
Officers were dispatched to a home on Vesey St.on July 24 shortly before midnight for a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival they located a male victim, later identified as 22-year-old Romualdy Pierre-Charles, with gunshot wounds.
He was determined to be deceased.
Surveillance video showed that three individuals approached the home when the shooting began and Carapinha, was injured in the shooting and taken to Boston Medical Center by his alleged accomplices.
The DA’s office says another suspect, identified as 20-year-old Marcus Miranda, was taken into custody at Logan Airport on Monday night while trying to board a plane to Portugal.
Both Miranda and Carapinha are next scheduled to appear in court on August 14.
