A sentence was handed down for a man who spent 17 years as a fugitive following a rape conviction.
The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office says that 55-year-old Tuen K. Lee was charged with breaking into a Quincy woman’s apartment in 2005 while masked and wearing gloves and bound her and brutally sexually assaulted her.
The victim had worked at a restaurant where Lee was a manager and, even though he was masked, the victim recognized his “putrid breath,” and his identity was further established at trial.
He fled during his trial in 2007 where a Norfolk Superior Court jury convicted him of aggravated rape, kidnapping, and associated charges.
A nationwide search was launched for Lee and he was featured on an episode of the reality crime show, “America’s Most Wanted.”
The District Attorney’s Office says Lee was sentenced to 18 to 20 years in State Prison.
