Say hello to our pet of the week, Clyde! Clyde is a 2 year-old Shepherd mix who weighs about 47 pounds. The team at Buddy and Friends Animal Rescue in Pembroke tell us he’s as sweet as can be. Clyde has been in his foster home for around 4 months now and has adapted really well to his surroundings, including to the people and dogs. He would do best in a home with another confident dog to help him continue figuring out how to dog. When he came to the home he was nervous meeting a bigger dog, but within a few weeks time they were playing tug-of-war together. He is submissive and an utter sweetheart.
Any application with another dog in the home will require a meet and greet due to his nervous energy, especially around meeting bigger dogs. Clyde is crate trained and potty trained, gently takes treats and knows a few basic commands. Clyde has been living with 9 and 15 year-old kids, but the team things it’s best Clyde not reside with very little kiddos. Clyde may take some time warming up to the other pups in the home, but with consistent work and encouragement the team at Buddy and Friends feel Clyde can grow to be a wonderful addition to many homes. Oh and he LOVES to play fetch!
