Why feature one when you can feature two amazing pups for pet of the week this week on WATD! Say hello to Brinkley and Racquel, currently residing with our friends at the Scituate Animal Shelter! These pups do not need to be adopted together, we just want to be able to shine the spotlight on two amazing pups who need new homes.
Who’s a good boy? Brinkley! Brinkley is the best boy.
This absolute delight will quickly fill in your heart, you can’t not love him once you meet him! An active, fun loving dog, Brinkley would love to accompany you on hikes and runs but is also chill and loves to just hang out. He is truly the full package.
Brinkley loves humans and dogs alike. He frequented the dog park and is really happy to make lots of new friends. Given he is probably hound mix, he is not a good fit for cats or small animals.
You might ask yourself why Brinkley is in the shelter if he is so great. Great question! This guy does have some separation anxiety. He is not destructive and doesn’t do anything too bad, he just whines. So, he is not suited for apartment living.
Overall this is a perfect dog. Looks like a lab, acts like a lab, a great family dog!
And say hello to Racquel!
Racquel is a fun loving, exuberant Hound mix who has lots of love to give. On the younger side, maybe around 2-years-old, Racquel is eager to learn and please!
This lovely girl is great with humans of all ages. While she may jump to greet, she is super gentle. She has no issues with sharing food or toys, making her a great family pet.
While Racquel can be near other dogs and have walking friends, she is uneasy in certain situations with other canines. She is looking to be the only dog in the home. Given her hound mix, we don’t think she would be a good fit with small animals.
Racquel has already shown she is eager to learn new tricks and has done great on agility equipment. She works for food and loves to impress. She is going to make an excellent companion for someone looking for an active, lovable friend.
If Racquel or Brinkley seem perfect for your family and you’d like to apply to adopt either one, send an email to adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org!
If you are interested in a pet but want to see them during shelter open hours prior to filling out an application, it’s recommended that you email adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org before visiting the shelter to ensure they are still there.
Open shelter hours are Wednesdays 1:30-6pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm for you to view adoptable pets. You can apply for animal at the shelter during our open hours or via the email listed here.
Meet and greets with animals are scheduled after applications have been processed and it’s been determined you are the best fit. The shelter does not operate on a first come, first served basis.
