Pembroke Girl Dies Following Crash In Duxbury

A Pembroke teen has died following a crash in Duxbury over the weekend.
Duxbury Police say that shortly after midnight on Saturday crews were dispatched to Harrison St. for a report of a vehicle that crashed into a tree.
Upon arrival they found the driver, a 17-year-old girl, later identified by Hobomock PTO as Maddie Straub, unresponsive and had to use the Jaws of Life to get her out of the vehicle.
Medical aid was provided on scene and she was Medflighted to Massachusetts General Hospital.
Duxbury Police say that on Monday night they were notified that she died from her injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
Pembroke Youth Baseball & Softball say they will be holding a candlelight vigil for Straub at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mattakeesett Fields by the Snack Shack.
