There were some close races in yesterday’s primary election on the South Shore. Some results are still not known because early voting ballots in some communities have not been tabulated.
Ken Sweezey narrowly defeated Jane Cournan in the Sixth Plymouth District Republican state senate race. Sweezey garnered 1839 or 52 percent of the votes to Couran’s 1648 or 47 percent.
As of one AM today, Kari MacRae was leading Mathew Muratore by just over one thousand votes for the Plymouth and Barnstable Republican state senate race.

In the First Plymouth Democratic four-way representative race Michelle Badger was leading Scott Hokanson, Arthur Desloges, and Stephen Michael Palmer as of early this morning.
Badger spoke to WATD News last night as she awaited the numbers.
In the three-way Plymouth County Commissioners race, democrats Greg Hanley and Rhonda Nyman were the two top vote getters over Scott Vecchi.
Hanley went over some of the early results for WATD.
John Deaton handily won the republican congressional senate race defeating Robert Antonellis and Ian Cain. Deaton will face Democrat incumbent Elizabeth Warren in November.
