A 214 page report was released Tuesday afternoon with the results of an independent investigation of the Brockton public school district fiscal year 2023 budget deficit.
The 18 million dollar deficit originally was 23.8 million–but using other unspent funds to offset that amount, the final number was 18 million.
The overspending including 13.2 million on personnel and 6.4 million on transportation.
The report also said there no evidence of fraud or criminal action and there was no money missing.
The report described key leaders as incompetent and criticized city policies, as well as the school committee.
The report was done by the Boston Law Firm Nystrom, Beckman & Paris, LLP.
