Local Cleric Discusses Diwali

Diwali is being observed by many in the Indian community.

 

Swami Yogatmananda, Minister of the Vedanta Society of Providence, tells WATD News that for many it is a way to commemorate the return of a great leader.

 

Yogatmananda it is also a day that calls for strengthening and healing relationships.

 

It is observed across the Indian Diaspora, including here in New England.

 

Yogatmananda also discussed a Diwali greeting.

 

Diwali is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar months of Ashvin between around mid-September and mid-November and celebrations generally last five or six days.
