Diwali is being observed by many in the Indian community.

Swami Yogatmananda, Minister of the Vedanta Society of Providence, tells WATD News that for many it is a way to commemorate the return of a great leader.

Yogatmananda it is also a day that calls for strengthening and healing relationships.

It is observed across the Indian Diaspora, including here in New England.

Yogatmananda also discussed a Diwali greeting.

Diwali is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar months of Ashvin between around mid-September and mid-November and celebrations generally last five or six days.
