There are 5 ballot questions in Massachusetts for the 2024 election and Rob & Beth made sure to go over each side’s stance on The South Shore’s Morning News. Listen in as we discuss these important measures:

Question 1: State Auditor’s Authority to Audit the Legislature

Ballot question 1 concerns the State Auditor’s authority to audit the legislature and to tell us why we should vote NO on this, we brought on Professor of Political Science at Central Connecticut State University, Jerold J. Duquette, M.P.A., Ph.D.

And to tell us why we should vote YES on this, we brought on Spokesperson/Board Member of the Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance, Paul Craney. 

Question 2: Elimination of MCAS as High School Graduation Requirement

Ballot question 2 concerns the elimination of MCAS as a high school graduation requirement and to tell us why we should vote NO on this, we brought on the Executive Director of Mass Business Alliance for Education. Ed Lambert. 

And to tell us why we should vote YES on this, we brought on the Vice President of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, Deb McCarthy.

Question 3: Unionization for Transportation Network Drivers

Ballot question 3 concerns the Unionization for Transportation Network Drivers and to tell us why we should vote NO on this, we brought on an organizer for Massachusetts Drivers United, Kelly Cobb-Lemire.

And to tell us why we should vote YES on this, we brought on Executive Vice President of 32BJ SEIU, Roxana Rivera.

Question 4: Limited Legalization and Regulation of Certain Natural Psychedelic Substances

Ballot question 4 concerns the Limited Legalization and Regulation of Certain Natural Psychedelic Substances and to tell us why we should vote NO on this, we brought on a partner of Shawmut Strategies Group, Chris Keohan.

And to tell us why we should vote YES on this, we brought on Community Engagement Director for the campaign, Jamie Morey.

Question 5: Minimum Wage for Tipped Workers

Ballot question 5 concerns the minimum wage for tipped workers and to tell us why we should vote NO on this, we brought on service professional/bartender from Mamma Mia’s Restaurants, Gretchen Shelgren. 

And to tell us why we should vote YES on this, we brought on service professional and One Fair Wage representative, Mitch Gaynor.
