Did you know there are several owl species here in Southern Massachusetts? We need to watch out for our feathery friends because once the winter darkness sets in, it can be a more risky time for owls. Since the sun sets earlier, that means owls are out hunting earlier…and that can coincide with rush hour traffic! CEO of New England Wildlife Centers, Zak Mertz, explained to us how they see an uptick in injured owls being brought in to their wildlife hospital and some helpful tips us humans can utilize to keep these beautiful birds safe!
