There was a heavy voter turnout in yesterday’s election on the South Shore. In the First Plymouth state representative race, Democrat Michelle Badger defeated Republican challenger Jesse Brown by over 1,000 votes.
Democrat Dylan Fernandes beat out Republican challenger Mathew Muratore for the Plymouth and Barnstable senate seat. Fernandes won by nearly 2,000 votes.
Twelfth Plymouth District Representative Kathy LaNatra was re-elected, beating Republican challenger Republican Eric Meschino by just over 1,000.
Republican Kenneth Sweezey won the Sixth Plymouth District State Representative seat over Democrat Challenger Becky Coletta by nearly 700 votes.
Democrat Greg Hanley and Republican Jared Valanzola were re-elected to the Plymouth County Commission fending off challengers, Democrat Rhonda Nyman and Republican Anthony O’Brien.
