A Hingham woman is facing charges after a pedestrian was struck Thursday night.
Hingham Police say that shortly after 7 p.m. officers were dispatched to the intersection of Water St. and Mill St. for a report of a pedestrian that had been struck by an SUV.
Officers learned that the pedestrian, identified only as a 58-year-old woman from Whitman, crossing Water St. in the marked crosswalk when she was struck by an SUV.
She was transported to South Shore Hospital with what are described as non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV, identified as 75-year-old Suzanne Collins, was arrested at the scene.
She was released on $500 bail for her arraignment at Hingham District Court on Friday on charges of Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol (2nd Offense); Negligent Operation; and Failure to Yield to Pedestrian in Crosswalk.
