It is heartbreaking to imagine what Franzia has gone through in her short life of just 4.5 months, but she is quite the little warrior with a HUGE heart. Franzia was found wandering the streets and scavenging for food by Sandy Paws Rescue. One of her eyeballs was extremely enlarged and Franzia was experiencing a lot of pain. They scooped her off the street and rushed her to the veterinarian with the unfortunate news that Franzia was suffering from a list of ailments: malnutrition, parasites, and a congenital defect that was the main culprit behind the eye condition.
With this sad diagnosis, comes swift treatments and surgery, with Franzia officially on the mend and doing FANTASTIC! She may have only one eye remaining but she is a resilient and happy puppy! What Franzia was really missing during her time of abandonment and neglect, was love and affection. Safe to say Franzia is making up for lost time with her playful and sweet personality. Franzia would do well with any kinds of friends as she is curious, cautious, and has a jolly manner. She would be a great companion to another dog, children of all ages, and cats! No need to worry if your house is getting full, because Franzia will just add to the love and complete your family! The fact of the matter is, Franzia would do well in any loving, and caring home as she can have fun galivanting with her toys, or take a nap with you on the couch.
Now imagine this cutie coming over to snuggle up and keep you company! My heart melts thinking about it! Since Franzia is a little new to the world, she is working on house training and is doing well in her crate. She is a pit bull mix so Franzia will grow up to be a medium sized dog. Her love and loyalty will make the best new family member for you! Please consider adopting Franzia today. Check out the pictures below for her transformation. All adoption information can be found on the Sandy Paws Rescue website, with some highlights listed below.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet.
Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort.
If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM**The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.

Adoption Fees & Financial Information:
All dogs are fully vetted upon arrival for their current age. Our Adoption Donation per dog starts at $625.00. There are exceptions to this which are stated in the bio for the dog. All of our expenses for current fosters, vetting and transport costs on most of our dogs exceed $625. Copies of all vetting will be supplied to the adopter. Only under certain circumstances do we not have any background health information on dogs before they arrived in our care.
Our Adoption Donations are not negotiable. The donation is meant to help cover the vetting costs of all the dogs in our program. A 1 year old dog can come in and only need $150 worth of vetting and have an Adoption Donation of $625, but then a 8 year old dog can come in and need over $800 worth of vetting and have the same $625 Adoption Donation. We do not set the Adoption Donation according to their vetting costs. There is a required $50 deposit for puppies that have not been spayed or neutered prior to adoption due to their age. Dogs over the age of 9 months old all have the same $625 Adoption Donation. This helps us cover vetting for those babies that need more than others. Regardless of age, all our babies get whatever medical attention they need. We hope that you now understand why we cannot lower Adoption Donations because of age.
Our Fees as of 01/01/2024
Puppies/Dogs : $625*
Benefactor Puppies under 12 months: $750-900*
Benefactor Dogs 12 months & up: $650-800
*if a puppy is intact, there is a $50 refundable deposit in addition to the fee.^
Dogs and puppies with benefactor or higher adoption fees are sometimes purebred dogs or other rescue dogs that are in high demand for one reason or another. They are typically quickly adopted, even with their higher fees. Their increased adoption fees allow them to act as benefactors to other dogs in our care that require special medical care and a better chance at adoption. Some dogs spend over a year in our care and require expensive surgeries, heartworm treatment and professional training. Benefactor dogs help support the care of the dogs most in need with Sandy Paws Rescue.

Flea/Tick prevention – $15-25
Heartworm prevention – $15-100
