Walking off the turf at Gillette last December, an already accomplished Scituate class of 2025 had a choice – how would they respond to a resounding defeat at the hands of rival Duxbury in the state championship game?
The then-juniors knew they had one more crack at securing the program’s third state title, and almost immediately, focus shifted to preparing to chase said title this fall.
Though the Sailors made an undefeated regular season look easy, outscoring opponents 344 to 61, their captains would tell you that the work they put in in the offseason was anything but.
They’ll also tell you that that’s what greatness takes. Now Patriot League Fisher Division Champs, Scituate enters the Division 4 tournament as the 2 seed, ready to go to work once again.

On Sunday night, Scituate’s senior captains Willy Robinson, Joey Burke, Lawson Foley, Sean Coyne, and Wyllys Ames joined the Sports Exchange to take us through their impressive regular season.
While the collective South Shore dreams of a third edition of Duxbury vs Scituate for a Super Bowl title, the Sailors are squarely focused on Round 1 opponent Melrose.
That’s not to say that scars from the Dragons aren’t driving Scituate to end this season on their own terms, though.
