The Norwell Special Town Meeting Thursday night adopted the MBTA Adjacent Community Multifamily Housing Zoning bylaw.
This allows the town to create a multifamily housing zone for a section of the Accord Park Dr. area.
Town Administrator Darleen Sullivan explains.
By approving the zoning bylaw, the town will have control over potential developments.
Town meeting also authorized the select board to approve long-term contracts to build a cell tower on Grove St. and for solid waste removal.
Funds were approved for a vault to be installed in the new town hall that is scheduled to open in the spring.
Norwell Town Meeting also gave the green light of using Community Preservation funds to complete preserving permanent and historic records.
