A Marshfield man accused of killing his 80-year-old roommate during an argument over preparing Thanksgiving dinner in their 853 Main St. Marshfield home, was back in court Wednesday for a dangerousness hearing.
Richard Lombardi was ordered held on 100-thousand dollars cash, with conditions of release he wear a GPS monitoring bracelet and adhere to a curfew.
Sixty-five-year-old Richard Lombardi had pleaded not guilty in Plymouth District Court (Friday) to charges of involuntary manslaughter and assault and battery on a person over age 60.
Prosecutors say that Lombardi told police that he became angry at his roommate, Frank Griswold, when he got too close to food he was cooking for Thanksgiving on Wednesday night.
Police say that Lombardi came up behind Griswold, grabbed him, and tossed him aside, causing him to fall and strike his head. Griswold later died of his injuries.
Lombardi’s attorney said the incident was an accident and his client and Griswold have been friends for 30 years.
Lombardi is due back in court on December 19th.
