One Firefighter Injured In Wareham Fire

Crews were called to the scene of a fire in Wareham.

The Onset Fire Department says that shortly after 11:30 a.m. Sunday a fire was reported at 3086 Cranberry Hwy.

Units arrived on scene to find heavy smoke showing from a large multi-occupancy commercial building.

A fire condition was then found in two of the occupancies and mutual aid was requested.

In total 60 firefighters helped put down the blaze and a hazard condition was found in one of the occupancies which had a large quantity of Lithium-Ion batteries as part of their business which resulted in a Hazardous Materials Response Team being called in.

One firefighter was treated for an injury at Tobey Hospital before they were released.

The incident remains under investigation.

Wareham, Bourne, Marion, Plymouth, Middleboro, and Carver provided mutual aid while Sandwich and Plymouth provided station coverage.
