Zak Mertz from New England Wildlife Center Talks Avian Flu, Billington Sea Pond, and Tips for Animal Care and Safety

It was reported this week that around 60 birds were found to be deceased in the Billington Sea Pond area of Plymouth, and the suspected cause of death is avian flu. The South Shore’s Morning News got an update on this matter from Zak Mertz, the CEO of New England Wildlife Center, He explained their efforts to help clean up and secure the area of Billington Sea Pond, alongside Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife , Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, Town of Plymouth and Clean Harbors.
