A Brockton man is facing charges after allegedly trying to steal a police cruiser among other vehicles.

Norwell Police say that at 9:44 a.m. on January 29 officers were dispatched to the area of 22 Pond Street  after receiving a report that a male party was making threats to kill people if he did not get a vehicle.

Upon arrival officers found the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Elishah Moore-Evans, sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle later determined to be a vehicle owned by an Uber employee.

The Uber driver told police he was driving Moore-Evans from Brockton and during the trip Moore-Evans became agitated and aggressive and became making remarks about Dominicans.

The driver went into the business to get help and Moore-Evans followed him inside.

Police say he was asked to leave the business at which point he began threatening employees saying he would, “comeback and shoot and kill all of the workers.”

Moore-Evans also said he would be taking a vehicle from the business, before getting into an altercation with the Uber driver, which caused damage to the business, and stealing their keys.

Officers arrived before Moore-Evans could leave and was reported to be aggressive towards the officers saying he was “going to take the cruiser.”

He fought with officers as he was being taken into custody causing damage to a police cruiser.

Moore-Evans was transported to a local hospital along with an officer who was injured during the altercation.

Moore-Evans is being charged with Chapter 269 Section 14 Threats (to shoot and kill); Chapter 265 Section 21A Attempted Carjacking (Uber); Chapter 265 Section 21A Attempted Carjacking (police cruiser); Chapter 265 Section 13D Assault and Battery on a Police Officer with Serious Injury; Chapter 266 Section 126A Malicious Damage to vehicle (police cruiser); Chapter 266 Section 126A Malicious Damage to vehicle (in the business); Chapter 266 Section 126A Malicious Damage (to business window); Chapter 268 Section 32B Resisting Arrest; Chapter 272 Section 53G Disturbing the Peace; and Chapter 272 Section 53F Disorderly Conduct.
