Avon Man Arrested In Connection With Homicide Investigation

Officials are investigating a reported homicide in Avon.

The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office says that shortly before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday first responders were dispatched to a home on Nichols Avenue after receiving a 911 call regarding an unresponsive female in need of medical assistance.

Upon arrival they found a woman, later identified as 53-year-old Astrid Joseph, on the floor of the home with visible injuries and investigators say there were signs of a struggle. 

District Attorney Michael Morrissey says that a suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Thadeus Joseph of Avon, was apprehended with the help of Braintree police.

Officials say there is no threat to the public.

The incident remains under investigation.

Joseph is expected to be arraigned Wednesday morning in Stoughton District Court.
