A Raynham man is facing charges after a car crashes into a Quincy business.

Massachusetts State Police say at approximately 1:30 a.m., a Trooper was conducting a property check of Wollaston Beach and Quincy Shore Drive when he observed several vehicles illegally parked along the sea wall.

One of the vehicles, a 2025 KIA K5, had a revoked registration.

It was also discovered that the owner had a suspended license, and the vehicle had fled several police agencies in the last several weeks.

Several people walked toward the cars and the Trooper asked them to leave the area in compliance with the posted signs prohibiting overnight parking.

Troopers began following the KIA until it sped up and was out of their sight.

It was then observed driving past them at a high rate of speed and Troopers initiated a traffic stop, but the operator continued to evade police.

State Police say the KIA K5 ran a solid red light at the intersection of Billings Road and Hancock Street where it struck another vehicle propelling it into a business on the street, Balducci’s House of Pizza.

The driver, later identified as 25-year-old Michael Howard, then exited the car and attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended a short time later.

He was treated for a cut on the head by Quincy EMS.

Howard is facing charges of failure to stop for police, leaving the scene of property damage, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, reckless operation, and other offenses.

Balducci’s posted a message on their Facebook page Tuesday morning saying that “boarding up is just about completed and we are open for takeout and delivery.”
