A deceased male who was found in the back seat of a black 2019 Honda Civic outside the emergency room at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on Saturday afternoon around 2 p.m. has been identified.

Authorities say the victim is 27-year-old Declan Perry of Portland, Maine.

Perry’s body was wrapped in multiple blankets and secured with duct tape.

The vehicle had an apparent bullet hole in the windshield and Maine license plates.

Neighbors in a Scituate condominium complex on the Driftway saw news coverage of the incident and contacted Scituate Police to report they had seen a man loading a large, heavy blanket into the Honda at their neighbor’s residence earlier on Saturday.

State Police and Scituate Police sought and obtained a search warrant for the residence and seized several items of evidence.

The investigation has now been taken over by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office from the Norfolk District Attorney’s office.

The State’s Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

Authorities say the victim and the unidentified person of interest were known to each other.
