Signature Healthcare Announces Cuts

Signature Healthcare will be reducing the workforce at its Brockton hospital as part of a restructuring across its medical group.

Signature Healthcare officials said Monday that a series of organizational changes are necessary to ensure financial sustainability and long-term growth.

The company says it’s putting on hold or discontinuing several planned projects, and not filling some vacant positions.

Officials say Signature and other healthcare providers continue to face mounting financial pressures.

They say that 80 percent of revenue is from government payers such as Medicare and Medicaid that are not keeping pace with the rising cost of care delivery.

Signature Healthcare President and CEO Robert Haffey said in a statement that the changes are necessary to ensure continued high-quality and compassionate care to the communities they serve.
