Suspect Surrenders in Murder of Man Wrapped in Blanket in Weymouth

A Scituate man is under arrest charged in connection with the murder of a man dropped off at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.

Forty-two-year-old Christopher Caron turned himself in to Scituate police on Saturday.

He is being held until his arraignment in Hingham District Court Tuesday.

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz and Scituate Police Chief Mark Thompson say that last Saturday, August twenty-third the body of 27-year-old Declan Perry of Portland, Maine was found wrapped in a blanket secured with duct tape in the back seat of a sedan parked in front of the South Shore Hospital emergency room.

Authorities say that Caron drove the car there and alerted hospital officials about the body in the car then fled the area before police arrived.

Neighbors of the Driftway condo where Caron lives told police they helped him carry a heavy blanket into the car.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Caron’s unit where they say they seized various evidence. An arrest warrant was issued.

The medical examiner was to conduct an autopsy on Perry to determine the cause of death. The results have not yet been released.

Caron turned himself in just before the state police violent fugitive apprehension unit and the Plymouth County DA’s officers were deployed to arrest him.
