Carver Police are investigating following a reported shooting Wednesday night.

Chief Marc Duphily says that shortly after 7:30 p.m. a woman arrived at the Carver police station reporting that she had been shot at Sampson Pond.

Officers observed what appeared to be a gunshot wound to her leg and Carver EMS responded to the police station, providing medical aid.

The 28-year-old woman was then transported to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Carver Police then searched where the shooting reportedly occurred with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing helicopter, a Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, and a drone unit from the Rochester Police Department.

Duphily says they believe this was not a random act and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is being asked to contact the Carver Police Department at 508-866-2000.
