The candidates for Brockton’s General Election have been decided on following Tuesday’s preliminary elections.
Unofficial results from Elections Director Cynthia Hogan show that former interim mayor Moises Rodrigues was the top vote-getter in the race to replace Mayor Robert Sullivan with 3,090 votes. He will advance along with At-Large City Councilor Jean Bradley Derenoncourt who got 2,522 votes.
In the race for Councillor At Large the top vote getter was David Teixeira with 3,081 votes, Carla Darosa was second with 2,582 votes. They will advance to the General Election alongside Winthrop Farwell with 2,239 votes; Judith Nelson with 1,757 votes; Jeffrey Charnel with 1,627 votes; Michael Nunes with 1,273 votes; Joseph Francois with 1008 votes; and Matthieu Delisme with 847 votes.
The Ward 1 Councillor race saw Ulisses Varela and Marlon Green advancing with 425 votes and 337 votes respectively.
The winners in the Ward 5 Councillor race were Jeffrey Thompson and with 481 votes and Ellie Texeira with 378 votes.
In the race for Ward 6 Councillor John Lally and Lisa Crowley will move forward with 537 votes and 197 votes respectively.
The two school committee races saw Steven Pina and Jorge Vega moving forward in the Ward 1 race with 455 votes and 365 votes respectively.
The Ward 3 race saw Matthew Stanton as the top vote getter with 507 votes, followed by Ana Oliver with 430 votes.
The general election will take place November 4.
