A Haitian national has been found guilty in connection with the rape of a 15-year-old girl at a Rockland hotel.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says that on March 13, 2024, Rockland Police were dispatched to the Comfort Inn at 850 Hingham St. for a report of a sexual assault.
The hotel was being used to provide housing and food for migrant families as part of a state/federal program.
Officers arrived on scene where they found the victim, who was transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment.
An investigation commenced which led investigators to the now 27-year-old Cory B. Alvarez, who was residing at the hotel, and he was taken into custody.
The District Attorney’s Office says testimony was given that Alvarez’s DNA was located on the female victim and he was convicted of one count each of Aggravated Rape of a Child with 10 Year Age Difference.
Sentencing is scheduled to take place on September 30 in Plymouth Superior Court.
