Seven men have been indicted on charges that they kidnapped and tortured a Quincy man.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says that on February 27 the masked kidnappers, assaulted the victim outside his home and forced the victim at gunpoint into the passenger seat his own vehicle.
They then allegedly drove the victim to a garage in Saugus where they held him at gunpoint and demanded ransom, threatened to kill him and beat, burned and assaulted the victim.
It is also alleged that they used the victim’s phone to contact his spouse and an acquaintance where they displayed the torture on a videocall.
Eventually the kidnappers obtained approximately $4,000 in cash from the victim as well as the victim’s credit and debit cards, and a total of $18,000 in cash and a Rolex watch from the victim’s spouse and an acquaintance of the victim.
They then allegedly drove the victim back to Quincy where he was released in the early morning hours of February 28.
The suspects, identified as 33-year-old Brian Cardoso, a/k/a “B,” of Dorchester; 29-year-old Marcus Castaldi, a/k/a “Skino,” of Revere; 34-year-old Melvin Coleman, a/k/a “Mel,” of Roxbury; 37-year-old Anthony Lima, a/k/a “YT,” of Quincy; and 27-year-old Samuel Alouidor, of Dorchester were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and one count of obstruction of justice by tampering with a witness, victim, or informant by physical force or threat.
Charges were also filed against two unnamed associates.
Cardoso has also been identified as a member/associate of NOB, a Dorchester-based street gang.
