Turnout Under 10 Percent For Quincy Preliminary Elections

Quincy held preliminary elections on Tuesday for two city council races.

Unofficial results from the City Clerk’s Office show that former Mayoral Candidate Anne Mahoney was the top vote getter in the race for City Councillor-At-Large with 3,242 votes, Noel DiBona was second with 3,018 votes.

Scott Campbell received 2,576 votes, Ziqiang Yuan had 1,853 votes, and Herbert Shaugnessy had 1,804.

Jackie Carvey and Hannah Kaplan were the bottom two vote getters, with Carvey getting 707 votes and Kaplan getting 594, and they will not be moving on to the general election.

The top two vote getters in the Ward 6 City Councillor Race were William Harris with 646 votes and Deborah Riley with 609 votes. They will move on the November General Election, while Christopher Chan and James Coffey were eliminated with 259 votes and 235 votes respectively.

Voter turnout was roughly 9.5 percent.
