One person was injured following an early Wednesday morning crash in Hanson.

Hanson Police say that at approximately 5:18 a.m. officers were dispatched to the area of 968 West Washington St. for a report of a motor vehicle crash.

They arrived on scene and learned that a black Hyundai Elantra had struck the Hanson Grain & Pet Store.

The driver, described as a 19-year-old Brockton woman, was treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation has determined that the driver left her lane on West Washington St. (Route 14) and crashed into the business.

Police say it appears that the crash caused structural damage to the building and damage to a gas line along with damage to chicken coops and bags of merchandise.

The incident remains under investigation.
