Voters Oust Four Incumbent Quincy Councilors

Four Quincy city council incumbents lost to challengers in Tuesday’s election.

Ward one councilor David McCarthy, Ward 4 councilor James Devine, Ward 5 councilor Daniel Minton and Ward 6 councilor William Harris were ousted.

David Jacobs took the Ward one seat, Virginia Ryan won Ward 4, Maggie McKee is Ward five’s new councilor, and Ward 6 was clinched by Deborah Riley. 

Walter Hubley bested Kathleen Thrun for the open Ward 3 seat. 

Richard Ash ran unopposed in Ward 2.

In the three-seat councilor at large race, incumbent Scott Cambell was defeated by Ziguan “Susan” Yuan. 

Incumbent Noel DoBona was reelected and will be joined by former city councilor Anne Mahoney.

There will be two new members on the school committee.

Incumbent Tian Cahill will be joined by Tom Leung and Kate Campbell.

About 23 percent of the city’s voters cast ballots in yesterday’s election.
