An evacuation took place on Monday afternoon at Silver Lake Regional High School.
Kingston Police say that at approximately 1:15 p.m. a substitute teacher reported a strong odor of gas in a classroom.
The building was then evacuated and the Kingston Fire Department responded quickly and cleared the building for reentry.
Police say it was later determined that the odor was the result of students working on a lab in a nearby classroom and the building was deemed safe.
