The recount of the Brockton November fourth election has been completed, and the results will not change any of the races.
The results were released Wednesday at city hall.
It took three days to complete the recount.
Mayoral candidate Jean Bradley Derenoncourt, who lost the race to Moises Rodrigues by 260 votes, called for the recount after challenging the results.
The recount showed Derenoncourt lost by 259 votes, one vote less than the original result.
In a facebook post yesterday, Derenoncourt stated that the recount revealed serious and widespread irregularities that undermined the election.
He said that his team documented absentee ballots with signatures that did not match, and ballots that were unsealed or left in unsecured places.
Derenoncourt said he is moving forward with his lawsuit against the city citing that “dozens if not hundreds” of mail-in ballots and envelopes appeared to have the same handwriting.
In addition to the mayors’ race, the recount included councilor-at-large, school committee in ward three, and city council races in wards one, three, and five.
In two of the tightest races, the recount found that ward three school committee member Ava Oliver beat Matt Stanton by seven votes, and ward one councilor-elect Marlon Green topped Ulisses Varela by five votes.
