An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that occurred Monday night.
Canton Police say the shooting took place just before 6:45 p.m. in a parking lot on Turnpike St. near Stagecoach Rd.
Officers arrived on scene to find a woman in her 20’s with gunshot wounds.
An investigation determined the woman was sitting in a car along with a passenger outside at the Lamplighter Village apartment complex as they were waiting for someone.
At some point an individual opened fire, injuring the woman but leaving her passenger unharmed.
The woman was transported to a Boston hospital with what are described as serious injuries.
Police say a search warrant was executed at 6 a.m. by Canton Police and Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council SWAT at a Canton residence resulting in the arrest of a 16-year-old juvenile male, who was taken into custody without incident.
The victim is still being treated at a Boston hospital with serious injuries.
