When Jon Marshall took over the Randolph football program ahead of their abbreviated spring 2021 season coming out of the COVID pandemic, the Blue Devils had not won a league title since their lone crown in the 1980s, and hadn’t claimed a state title in any sport.

Marshall’s aim to build a program beyond a team seemed lofty. A surprise title in fall 2021 announced the Blue Devils to the state. Still, Marshall was building something bigger.

After falling short against West Boylston last season at Gillette, the Blue Devils returned to the state title game again this season for another swing at the Lions.

This year, they didn’t miss.

Randolph authored a complete 48 minutes of football, shutting out West Boylston en route to a 21-0 final.

After back to back title appearances, and the program’s second title, Cornet and Norisca had no doubt that they were among the group to achieve Coach Marshall’s mission of establishing a premier program.
