Relive the Magic: WATD’s Broadcasts of the MIAA Super Bowls

by | Dec 8, 2025

It was another busy final weekend of the season for the South Shore as four local representatives reached state title games.

That made for a busy weekend for WATD, too, as the WATD Sports Team broadcast live coverage of four MIAA Super Bowls.

Three local teams came out victorious, lifting the Harry Agganis Trophy above the field at Gillette Stadium.

Relive the magical moments from each one of our Super Bowl broadcasts below, as the WATD Sports team colors all the moments that decided state titles.

Division 7 Super Bowl: Cohasset 22, Amesbury 14

The Cohasset Skippers took home their third state title in program history, dispatching an Amesbury team that had two seasons prior stopped them a game shy of Gillette.

Michael Wildfire (2) and Gus Greene rushed for touchdowns as the Skippers ground attack led the way over the Redhawks.

Cohasset improved to 3-1 in Super Bowl appearances, all under head coach Pete Afanasiw, and secured their first title since 2021.

Division 6 Super Bowl: Fairhaven 28, Norwell 14

Experience proved key for a Fairhaven team making their third straight appearance at Gillette.

In their first appearance in a title game since 1999, and their first ever at Gillette Stadium, the Norwell Clippers ran out of gas in the second half after heading into the break knotted at 14-14.

Despite over 200 rush yards from junior quarterback Jack Luccarelli, the Clippers couldn’t clinch their program’s fourth title, and instead watched Fairhaven claim their second in three years.

Division 8 Super Bowl: Randolph 21, West Boylston 0

For the second straight season, Randolph and West Boylston met for the Division 8 title. After claiming victory last year, the Lions were riding a streak of three consecutive titles.

This year would be a far different story, as the Blue Devils shut down West Boylston’s vaunted rushing attack en route to a shutout win.

Randolph claimed its second state title in program history in its third appearance since 2021. All three have come under head coach Jon Marshall, who won his first title since taking over as the school’s athletic director.

Division 4 Super Bowl: Scituate 42, Tewksbury 41

Scituate made it back-to-back titles as they continued to lay claim to the crown as the South Shore’s preeminent program of the 2020s.

Perhaps the most thrilling game of the entire weekend saw the Sailors erase a 14 point halftime deficit to deny Tewksbury their fourth state title and a perfect season.

Senior Jonny Donovan found classmate Miller Shea in the endzone with 16 seconds remaining to notch the game winning score in this instant classic.
