Cahoon Caps 30-Year Braintree Career
Braintree police chief Tim Cahoon is resigning and will be serving as the chief of police in Newton.
Cohoon said Monday he is stepping down effective February eleventh capping a nearly 30 year career with the Braintree police department.
In a statement, Cahoon says that serving Braintree has been the greatest honor of his professional life.
He said that few people are fortunate to spend most of their career serving a community that helped shape them.
Cahoon said that during his tenure as chief, he focused on strengthening community trust, modernizing the department, implementing new technology, supporting officers and staff, and working with town leaders, residents and community stakeholders.
Cahoon also said he has confidence in the police department’s leadership and its ability to continue delivering outstanding service in the future.
