Woman Hospitalized After Crash

A woman was hospitalized on Sunday following a crash where she was struck by a car.

Kingston Police say that shortly after noon, officers were dispatched to Main St. (Rt. 3A) at the intersection of Howlands Lane for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a car striking a pedestrian.

Officers arrived on scene and found a 21-year-old female had been operating a scooter, was struck by a motor vehicle, and the female then struck her head against the pavement and was unresponsive.

They then conducted CPR and life-saving efforts with the aid a passerby, who was a Nurse Practitioner, until the arrival of Kingston Fire.

The woman responded to care efforts and awoke before being transported to the hospital for further care.

Police say the driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation which has determined that no evidence of unreasonable operation was shown by the driver.

The victim’s current condition is unknown at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
