An investigation is underway after a body was found in the woods Monday morning.
Cohasset Police say that shortly after 10:30 a.m. a 9-1-1 caller reported finding an unresponsive person on a remote trail within Whitney Woods.
First responders hiked approximately 1.5 miles into the park over rugged terrain, where they located a man in his early 70s who had sustained injuries.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police say they used two off-road UTVs to get to the remote location and transport personnel and equipment.
A closure of a section of Whitney Woods was in place for roughly three and a half hours while investigators were working the scene.
Police say there is nothing suspicious surrounding the death and there is no danger to the public.
