Holbrook police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a hit and run driver who struck a 16-year-old girl.
The incident happened around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon on North Shore Road.
Police say the girl was walking home after getting off a school bus when a vehicle driving on the shoulder of the road struck her.
The impact caused the girl to roll onto the hood of the vehicle and then fall to the ground.
The vehicle then took off.
The girl was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The vehicle was described only as black.
Police say there was a black SUV in the area with its rear hatchback open.
It’s not known if it was involved in the incident.
