A former public relations professor at Bridgewater State University has been indicted on rape and indecent assault charges.
Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz says a grand jury indicted 37-year-old Nicholas Pirelli, of Plymouth this week.
Bridgewater State Police conducted an investigation after a female student reported inappropriate sexual conduct by Pirelli. He was a temporary faculty member in 2019.
She matched with Pirelli on a dating website – they texted before he sent inappropriate pictures.
After the initial report, four more women told police that he reached out to them through social media platforms.
It’s alleged that Pirelli would send them money through an application, as well as offering them help with school work. He has since been terminated from Bridgewater State.
An arraignment was scheduled for February 25 in Brockton Superior Court.
Pirelli is facing charges that include Rape, Indecent Assault and Battery on a Person Over 14, Trafficking of Persons for Sexual Servitude, Engaging in Sexual Conduct for a fee, and three Counts of Sending Obscene Material.
