There is a big reason why WATD is a HUGE fan of little Larry the parakeet: Larry LOVES listening to the radio! We are hoping Larry’s favorite preset is 95.9 WATD, but we adore a broadcast supporter nonetheless.
Larry loves a little action in his life and is looking for that in his new forever home. He is a 6 year old parakeet who would do best with other parakeet friends in his home as that was his situation before and now Larry is a little lonely these days.
If you do have any pet parakeets, and would like to add Larry to the mix, APCSM suggests having the birds be cage neighbors at first and then moving them into the same enclosure later on.
Larry has some special caretaking procedures as his nails and beak grow quickly so his new home will have to do some extra trimming. He also has some special toys in his cage to promote self-care.
Check out this little yellow cutie and fill out the “Small Animal” Application to bring Larry home!
He is ready to be your next family member so please read the information below and continue to the APCSM website for next steps. Also, the public hours of APCSM are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1-4pm!
If you are not ready to be a pet owner quite yet, there are lots of opportunities to get involved with APCSM. If you would like to Foster a pet, please click here for more information.
APCSM is always collecting donations too, anything helps to protect animals.
AND if you would like to be an APCSM volunteer, please click here for different positions.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Step 1: Find a friend!
Visit our website to view listings of all animals currently looking for homes.
You’ll find information on each pet by clicking on their picture.
If you have questions about a specific animal, please email us directly at [email protected]
Please kindly take note that we do not retain applications for extended periods, nor for special requests. Our website is updated automatically as animals become available, so please check back regularly!
An adoption inquiry is not a hold, reservation, or guarantee on pet adoption.
Step 2: Send in your app
If you see an animal you like, submit an adoption application! If you aren’t sure on exactly which animal – that’s OK too. We can do a general meet and greet with multiple animals.
After submitting an application, our staff will review your information and contact you. Please allow up to 3 business days to hear from us.
We will schedule a day and time for you to come to the shelter to meet the pet(s) you are interested in adopting.
Step 3: Meet your new buddy!
If your meet-and-greet goes well, it’s time to adopt! Your counselor will guide you through some paperwork to make it official. See our current adoption fees.
If you are adopting a cat, kitten, or small animal, please bring a secure carrier to safely transport them home. A collar and leash will be provided to you if you are adopting a dog.
If You Have Other Pets at Home:
We prefer that your current animals be up-to-date on vaccinations and regular/semi-regular check ups.
If you are adopting a dog or guinea pig, we will arrange a time for your current pets to meet your new friend here at the shelter to ensure they’re a good fit.
If you are adopting a cat, bird, or other small animal, we will not have them meet beforehand. We do recommend and encourage SLOW, supervised introductions in your home.
Please remember, we want you to succeed! Our animals deserve loving homes and every potential adopter goes through the same adoption process to ensure the animals are placed in a safe environment. We hope you find a great match!
