Weymouth firefighters fought two separate house fires within hours this weekend.
Sunday morning around 8:30, firefighters were called to a house fire at 65 Mutton Lane where they rescued a trapped resident.
When firefighters arrived, smoke was showing from the two-and-a-half story home and a trapped occupant at the second-floor window.
Firefighters deployed a ladder and brought the victim to safety.
The fire was quickly brought under control.
On Saturday night, a home at 53 Idlewell Boulevard was heavily damaged by fire.
Flames were showing when firefighters around 8:30 after calls were received for a house fire.
A second alarm was sounded bringing firefighters from Quincy, Braintree, and Hingham to assist at the scene.
The fire was quickly knocked down.
No one was injured.
The rear and a side of the home sustained heavy damage.
An adjacent home’s siding was damaged by the intense flames.
The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the displaced occupants.
The cause of both fires is under investigation.
