The 50,000th COVID-19 vaccination shot was administered at the Marshfield Fairgrounds vaccination site Thursday.
Plymouth County Sheriff Joe McDonald tells WATD News he is very impressed with how well the site is run.
Marshfield Deputy Fire Chief Michael LaSelva oversees the operations at the site, and tells WATD News it took everyone coming together as a team to get the job done.
Town Administrator Mike Maresco spoke with WATD News and discussed how the idea for the Marshfield vaccination site came together.
Maresco says he wanted to create a “task force” when the pandemic started, and Deputy LaSelva was his choice to run the vaccination site.
He also highlights the role the police department plays in keeping the vaccination site running smoothly.
The town plans to begin vaccinating 16-18 year olds. They will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have a permission slip signed and filled out. Maresco says the town expects to be operating through the end of the fiscal year.
