The Lowe’s in Pembroke was evacuated Friday after a suspicious item was found inside.
Fire officials tell WATD News that the item was a chlorine bottle with the top half cut off and the bottom half covered in black tape.
It was ultimately determined to be nothing that would put the public at risk.
However, while first responders were on scene the fire alarm went off and the store was evacuated.
Officials conducted a walk-through of the store and, after finding nothing out of place, reopened it.
It is unknown at this time who set off the fire alarm and the matter is under investigation.
